It’s been a busy couple months, but progress is being made!
Perhaps the biggest progress has been my invitation to join a Regency critique group. I felt like I got an invitation to the ball! 😆 It’s an amazing group of ladies, and they’ve already helped my writing so much. It gets me super excited to work on my story, knowing I have both cheerleaders and mentors to help me get it where it needs to be. These ladies have become instant friends, and I’m so excited to see where they take their writing careers.
One, Sally Britton, has already published a book and a novella this year, and will be releasing a second novel in a week or two. Check her out on Goodreads! Two others have signed to be published later this year, and I can’t wait.
If you’re a new writer, I highly recommend finding a critique group. I’d love to find a group for my fantasy stuff, but with all that’s going on in my life right now I might have to just stick to Regency for now.
Now I’m just preparing for the conference in May, and am alternately nervous and excited. I’ve heard it’s a great one for new writers, but I’ll let you know. 😉
As far as writing goes, I’m in the middle of a second draft of Heart of the Lion and trying not to get too distracted by major plot edits for The Gentleman’s Charade. If only I had more time to write! Haha. I won’t be meeting my conflicting goals of getting first draft of Gentleman’s Charade done or edits for Heart of the Lion done before the conference. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, and writing just has to come second. But both will be finished this year, and I’ll keep plugging away at my goals.
How is your writing going?
