Starting up an author blog! One more step into social media. 😆
With this blog, I hope to give a little glimpse into my writing life, process, and works. I hope to make posts short, which tends to be very difficult for me.
Ironically, I’m desperately trying to get back to a regular writing schedule. Two long trips this month, preparation for a youth cultural celebration, a guest, and regular mom duties have made it quite difficult. I also think finishing my fantasy story wore me out. Trying to meet my self-imposed deadline took a lot of effort. It’s also been difficult switching mindsets to get into my Regency story.

I saw a quote once on Instagram that I should have saved. It said something on the lines of some stories being harder to write than others. That is exactly my experience. My fantasy/fairytale went quickly. 75K words in two months, which is fast for me. My Regency story I started outlining two years ago. I started writing it in February, and am only 15K along. As a historical fiction piece, there is quite a bit more research involved. I’m a writer who needs to research when the question comes up. I can’t ignore things like that until the next draft. This plot is also much more tangled. My original outline is almost twice as long as that of my last story, and I have a larger cast.
Still, I love the story. It makes me so frustrated to struggle hopping back in. The cultural celebration is Saturday, and I hope for a little peace and quiet afterwards to recollect and restart my schedule.
